Lisa Vance, CNM
Lisa found her passion of helping women early on in her career when she was a labor and delivery nurse. However, in that role, she was only able to assist women at the end of their pregnancy journey, “I knew I wanted to go back to school so I could work with women before, during, and after delivery.”
After becoming a midwife and moving to the Kingsport area, Lisa found she was one of the few midwives serving our region at that time. Since then, she has worked diligently to educate and bring awareness to all that midwives do to help women navigate each phase of their pregnancy. She says, “the journey of midwifery is comprehensive, a big part is teaching moms and helping alleviate fears of pregnancy and childbirth. I love seeing the women I have had the privilege of getting to know go into their delivery process empowered and open to possibilities.”
While Lisa is passionate about individualizing care for each woman’s pregnancy journey, she is also dedicated to helping women navigate the normal and abnormal hormonal changes by treating and educating women from teenage years through post menopause.
Lisa obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences at North Carolina State University (Raleigh, NC), her Accelerated Bachelor in Nursing at Duke University (Durham, NC), and her Masters in Nursing & Certified Nurse Midwife at Radford University (Radford, VA).
Lisa resides in Kingsport with her husband and four daughters. In her spare time, Lisa loves indoor cycling, reading, and spending time with her family. Recently they bought a house on the lake and are enjoying quality time kayaking and being outdoors.
